Continuing along with eating and drinking, we day-tripped to Menerbes in the Luberon in search of more rose. Lunch at the Maison de la Truffe et du Vin (house of truffles and wine), delicious and fun. Anything truffle related can be found in the museum or shop. Five years ago, when we last visited, I bought a truffle shaver, still have that in the kitchen repertoire back home. This trip we were able to show three of our six children the raw physical beauty of this 17thcentury village area. As you know I love sharing food and wine and hope that one day they will return with their children, continuing the circle of breaking bread with those you love.
At the foot of the village lies the Domaine de la Citadelle and its interesting corkscrew museum Musee du Tire-Bouchon. Husband and I having been with a bottle a time or two while traveling and without a corkscrew found this retrospective amusing and informative, definitely worth a stop and a look.
