Art Auction & Gala

I wore a vibrant coral midi-length cocktail dress to last year’s event.

My husband Bill and I, three of our adult children, and their significant others are chairing this year’s Burchfield Penney Art Center Art Auction & Gala. We’ve attended as a family the past few years; it’s been a good party for a good cause, so we said yes when asked to step up to the plate.

In 2022, Lindsey and I both wore long dresses. Notice our matching clutches! I must say I love my professional life. My above, this one here, and both bags are Lafayette 148.

The gang’s all here, 2022.

We love that it’s a cocktail-style format with an early start time of 5:30 p.m. and an early exit time of 9 p.m. We love that there is regional art to bid on and take home; using your cellphone to bid on your favorite piece while increasing the sale price is fun. We love the excellent food and drink served and that this event is not a seated dinner but a night for moving around the beautiful gallery space and socializing with others. We love that we all get dressed up and celebrate a night out.

Booie at checkout. You get to take your art home with you that evening!
Don’t try this at home. 🙂 We have Precious cargo here. We live only a mile from the Center.

If intrigued, check out the Burchfield Penney Art Center website here: Art Auction & Gala: Saturday, June 8th, 2024. Thank you if you are reading and are one of our generous sponsors. Thank you to our artists, who are providing approximately 100 works for bidding. Thank you to our committee and the Burchfield team. Three favorite men.
Hope to see you June 8th!
This year’s invitation.

Every day dress, Art Auction & Gala.

PS. The event ends early, and you can get out of there before the sun goes down. 🙂 Here are some behind-the-scenes looks at our little after-parties at home:

In 2022, we retreated to the wine cellar.
Brother love at our vintage tasting table.
Perhaps looking at tasting notes.
Fun and games.
In 2023, we came home, I changed, and I whipped up dinner ten. I had marinated flank steaks on hand in the fridge.
We grilled vegetables and sat down and had late-night supper outdoors.
The kitchen is always the heartbeat.
They are getting their veggies in.
Ethan was a great help, especially with the grilling. Michelle, we love that apron!
