Angel Hair Pasta

I think about food a lot. Every morning. It’s kind of crazy.
Booie, Caroline, Peanut, Lexi, and Maxwell. We like to gather together.
I gave Peyton the dinner bell to ring. She was having a ball with it and felt so proud. Look at her little pink marker in the corner. We had toys and fingerprints everywhere.
Maxwell helped on the grill while I sliced farmer’s market bread in one of my favorite hand-crafted cardigans. Our pool chairs are not aligned, but that’s how it goes.
Peyton is ready for an early dinner. She spent ALL DAY swimming in the pool.
I used two picnic tables. One is small for serving buffet-style, and the other is large enough for us all to sit at. The two tablecloths were Mother’s Day gifts from Ethan and Lindsey. Thank you.
She was tired in the very best way. Madison with the pink hair clip!
OH! And we got a new COLD PLUNGE. Check it out in the background. Everyone is so into wellness. The plunge is amazing. I can go for four and a half minutes. It’s hard to get in yet feels great when you get out.
My sister surprised us all and flew in on the red eye from San Fran for the weekend. It was the best.
Ice cream with Uncle E for dessert.
Lounging after dinner.
Booie is wearing one of my favorite v-neck sweaters. So easy and comfortable.

One of my favorite things every morning is looking at the Recipe of the Day on the New York Times Cooking App. Today, it’s Marcella Hazan’s Tomato Sauce, which has only four ingredients—three if you don’t count the salt. I’ve made this delicious sauce countless times over. You can’t go wrong when a recipe has five stars and demands five tablespoons of butter. It’s currently making my mouth water, yum. I also usually text and share these recipes with my daughters, a bit like book club but make it recipe club.

Last week, I made Angel Hair Pasta as Caroline and her three littles were in town. Pasta and cherry tomatoes are always a hit with Peyton; we needed dinner for twelve fast. I also barbequed some chicken breasts using Ina Garten’s recipe for sauce and put together a quick Caesar salad. While dining al fresco or manger dehors (the French phrase for to eat outdoors), we all agreed that Angel Hair Pasta is underrated and should be included more often in our regular rotation. It cooks in just two minutes. You can save a cup of pasta water to make a silky sauce. It’s fun and easy to eat.

Three is the tub before a few fireworks and sparklers.
The colored smoke bombs were a hit.
Oh, summer, why do you go so fast?
Sparklers! I bought Peyton the strawberry pajamas for Christmas, and I couldn’t resist.
Summer fun and making memories.
Missing Elizabeth while she is in London. We will see you soon.

Anyway, it’s been a minute since I’ve been here. I hope you are all enjoying a healthy and beautiful summer and that you might be inspired too to make some Angel Hair Pasta or a quick and easy tomato sauce. Good food helps create good memories.

Every day dress, Angel Hair Pasta.

A navy and white striped tank is always a go-to.
