Peanut in Portugal

leaving Southie, ready to travel

I dropped my girl off at Boston Logan International Airport on May 25th with a backpack and a carry-on for her post-grad jaunt through Europe, and she’s been shining bright.

arugula etc.
a riff on Caprese, love the burrata
ready to enjoy the evening
making memories
dinner, a new dress, and a glass of rosé

A little monkey see monkey do; she hosted her friends for a lovely sit-down dinner at their Airbnb. She told me she mixed flowers from the market with flowers from the garden, bought seasonal produce, and that she loved her table and loved her dress; my heart is whole.

Simple style notes: yes, she’s traveling with a backpack and a carry-on (yay!), making it easier to move around fast. I bought the white dress for her in Buffalo, NY, at Half & Half, and she wore it under her robe on graduation day and then packed it for her trip. Her Valentino rock-stud sandals were a splurge gift from us her sophomore year of high school, and they are still going strong seven years later. Good clothes and shoes last.

her shoes have walked miles
iced coffee and slow-cooked eggs, garnished with thyme and chives from the garden. also, buttered toast is love.

I love that she fuels her body with slow-cooked scrambled eggs (protein!) in the morning and garnishes her plate with edible herbs.
