creative work wear

DSC01328

Oh, to be in an industry where you can spend your day in floral pants and open toe studded sandals, love it.

For creative work wear on this Tuesday, wearing black wash and dry pocket shirt, same one that was worn Saturday night out while in Boston at the Liberty Hotel, and those on trend pants with my new shoes. When something feels right, we say do it or wear it again. Found out the shirt was great in the dryer by mistake, while traveling threw the entire dark load in and there it was, came out perfectly. Normally machine wash on cold and hang to dry, this one can take the heat.

As for those floral pants? They’re all over the spring fashion scene, to keep them from looking too sweet paired them with black even though there’s not a spot of black in the pattern. Always encourage clients to do navy and black.

In the office, prepping for summer trunk shows and searching for another woman or a few who also want to wear and rep some creative work wear. Every day dress, creative work wear in Upstate New York.

white shoes?

IMG_4495

Like white jeans white shoes can be worn all year-long too.

IMG_3362

We’re back in the office, it is Monday after all, and we’ll be here until end of May prepping and hosting summer trunk shows.

Happy spring, finally.

We’ll save the open weave espadrille for the beach. 🙂

three years yesterday

IMG_3348

Three year’s yesterday with a camera and a laptop launched every day dress as a way to share ideas, trends, and good things around family, fashion, and food.

Thank you dear readers: we have 118 email subscribers, 225 Facebook likes, 144,350 site views, and average 250+ visits per day.

We’re not going for a kingdom here, youngest daughter and I talk about the value of 4 quarters or 100 pennies, and if we can reach out, touch, connect, or inspire even in a small way, our work is significant.

If you like where we’re at, thanks for stopping by. We love your comments and feedback the most, definitely one of our goals here is to share the love back more.

Every day dress, three years yesterday, thanks all. xoxo

last year’s top, this year’s denim

IMG_4638

For casual dinner on the beach, tucked in last year’s top, left the sleeves long, and paired it with this year’s denim. Hair back, no jewelry, and standard issue Ray Ban’s.

Buy well, wear often.

work anywhere

IMG_4626With a cell phone and a laptop, we can pretty much work anywhere. Definitely not logging anything close to full days, husband would have my head, yet still able to get stuff done.

Oldest daughter has a conference call at 10 am, husband likes to check and play the market, and I just basically love it all. Writing, talking with colleagues, addressing invites, exchanging clients jeans for one size up or one size down, it can all happen.

With the personal wardrobe it’s a looser silhouette, bought both pieces on two separate trips, the pants and the blouse, and combined them last night with those new shoes and a simple white wrap watch.

Every day dress, work anywhere.

white on white

IMG_4595 IMG_4596While away, and really just about every day, we like to keep things pretty easy. White on white, and a couple of luxe accessories, and dressed.

Mo, this ones for you: Optic White Yarn Dyed Linen Easy Shirt. We ditched the go-with camisole, like to pair it with a deep navy bra underneath instead. 🙂 Brought two more of the same, both of those in Indigo, different post about that, stay tuned.

This is modern linen too, machine wash on cold, hang to dry, really doesn’t even need an iron, maybe a light one if you’re fastidious.

Every day dress, white on white. Happy Tuesday all.

For weekend family events wore a crewneck elbow length fit and flare white knit dress. Left the full-on skin show this time to the under thirty under twenty set.

Knits are easy to pack, take minimal room in the carry-on, only need a quick shake-out, and you’re good to go. Ready for the day/night in ten minutes flat.

We opted out of the complimentary continental, and cooked in instead. No egg hunt this year, and no chocolate bunnies, simply family time and real food. Missing you E and EJ.

Hoping everyone had a soulful weekend. xoxo

some new shoes

IMG_4396
IMG_4448IMG_4452Been eyeing this designer for months now, and this last Friday night after a glass of wine or two finally did it. She’s French, launched her line in 2003, and now, today, have some new Laurence Dacade shoes, minus a small mortgage-like payment in the bank account. Love this on point female Parisian luxury accessories designer and now love owning/wearing a piece of her work.

Couldn’t resist the walkable chunky heel and the rock and roll edge. At about fifty we’re not doing anything here that’s not walkable anymore.

Every day dress, some new shoes.

double green

IMG_4365IMG_4363IMG_4366

small note: the net-a-porter ribbon and the corkscrew on the kitchen counter, both really good things

Yeah, snowed here in the BUF today so simply doing double green in the kitchen. Asparagus and spinach, the latter of course with cheese, gotta love Gruyère to finish things off. Same old rosemary garlic balsamic chicken but it’s a Monday…this time used Espresso Balsamic Vinegar.

IMG_4368IMG_4373

Worked all day in the home office, only left to do the drive around/pick-up. Quick look at the redo that’s going on, picture here from the iPhone, still a lot of styling do be done yet it’s a start.

White hydrangea from last week’s grocery trip going strong, did the boiling water thing and dipped the stems in alum. 🙂IMG_4377Every day dress, double green, happy Monday everyone.

white flowers, black sweaters

IMG_4344IMG_4347IMG_4350

Last Friday in March 2015, and some things are constant: white flowers, black sweaters. Had a client order three black turtlenecks this week, good basics are always good.

Small detail with the denim, took a pair of scissors and cut about three inches off the hem, left the selvage raw. Simply wanted a change, and now they’re raw or with a simple roll.

ps. at the work desk we’ve got a search going on in Saratoga Springs to add a Stylist to our upstate team, any blog readers out there know of anyone you think we should be speaking with? Fun, flexible, work your own schedule from just about anywhere, for the right woman a pretty unbeatable combination. 🙂 Email us here at rebecca@everydaydress.com or message 716.445.3033.

TGIF everyone, let’s make it a great one. Thanks for reading.
