multiples, again

[easyrotator]erc_94_1365286477[/easyrotator]

Dress, as seen before in blue silk, now again in rosewater. This dress has so much versatility, equally appropriate for a wedding or bar mitzvah, or, like seen here, for kind of casual dinner at The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club. It works, so put two in the wardrobe. Dear friend said to me while shopping at Waterside shops yesterday that she doesn’t want to think about what to wear or how to put herself together yet she still wants to look great and feel great. Couldn’t agree more, again, consider multiples.

Packed this cold shoulder dress in both colors for this trip south and wore it to dinner with same group of people on two different nights. Both nights felt great. Husband of dear friend liked the look, didn’t even recall that his wife, faithful client, has the same dress too. Love when friends, clients, family, and daughters have the same pieces, it’s a total complement.

Third daughter, fourteen year old, also wore the cold shoulder look last night too. She wanted something simple to wear with her new floral jeans so white cold shoulder blouse to the rescue. Multiples, again, closet has this little chic piece in black too.

Total tangent here but here goes: currently reading Sheryl Sandberg’s Lean In on the iPad. Being a work from home parent of four daughters with one just starting her career and three still in school, lots to think about here, likability, success, and fear high up on the list. WNY Women’s Foundation, totally looking forward to your community conversation on May 2nd. Know this topic includes our two sons in their twenties as well, as they have bright women in their lives beginning careers, too. Husband has always been a huge advocate of women and education. He wrote my tuition check for college as I went to night school, pregnant with twins and our eighteen month old at home. The company I now work for, Worth New York, offers women the opportunity to succeed while being able to combine work with life, family, and community involvement. While achieving a minimum to moderate level of success, reflecting on what’s needed for greater success. Looking forward to lots of good work  and conversation. Back to the real office on Monday.

Hope you can celebrate with us this Thursday, April 11th. Every day dress is an all-inclusive fashion and lifestyle site, if you check in here at all and would like to celebrate life love fashion food fitness, and work, email us here. Letting Antonio know final party count by Monday afternoon.

Have a great Saturday night. xoxo

less is enough

[easyrotator]erc_48_1365245990[/easyrotator]

When traveling, everyone involved is happier when less is enough, as in luggage. With fewer choices, getting dressed fast is easier and you don’t need to keep anyone waiting. When less is enough, you can handle your luggage pretty much all by yourself, which is always a good thing.

Youngest daughter traveled to FL earlier this year with another family and we kept her packing tight. They were impressed and pleased, you don’t want to be that guest with the enormous amount of luggage. Learned that condensed packing system while growing up sailing being allowed one duffel only for a week-long regatta. It’s a useful skill.

For this trip packed two handbags: one satchel and one small clutch. Both neutral so they could go anywhere, anytime. One pair of high  sandals that will go straight to favorite shoe repair man upon landing for new heels they have been worn so often.

White jeans, one pair, wardrobe staple and can be washed when needed.

Less is enough with the animal print trend as well. Have had this gorgeous Roberto Cavalli silk blouse for four years now: always like to keep the rest of the outfit a little clean and understated.

With one strong focal point, less is enough. When traveling with other’s, it helps to keep peace when you keep the luggage and accessories minimal. Makes things easier for everyone.

Every day dress in Naples FL for two more days, then back to upstate New York for team building and fashion fun. Thanks for reading everyone, over 33,453 site views.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

happy blue

[easyrotator]erc_50_1365023256[/easyrotator]

Happy Birthday to twenty-three year old twins, today, April 3rd. Happy that life moves on, a little blue that birthday girl will be celebrating with her sister in Boston and law school son, well, he is studying.

For dinner with one of the twin’s decided to wear a blue silk dress. Been on the road now for one solid week, this dress takes up to next to nothing in the luggage, needs a quick press, and with one pair of packed black sandals and one gold clutch, dressed and ready to go.

Pack light, travel well, and every day dress will be lighting the candles and toasting and missing you, Linnie, Happy 23rd.

Here I go, way too much time on my hands, dress by Worth New York Spring 2012. Probably need to get back to the desk soon.

going long

[easyrotator]erc_46_1365002446[/easyrotator]

For poolside barbecue while visiting friends in their high-rise condo, opted for going long. Skin was a little sensitive from too much time at the beach so couldn’t even consider tight jeans, haha. Dress from last year was super comfortable, styled it by borrowing fourth daughter’s cross body bag in light pink and new Chanel sneakers, to give it kind of a modern kick.

Love the simplicity of a dress, and love love when it’s long and comfortable. Love that it exposes a little skin and keeps a little to the imagination. Love too that the extra length also helps cover some of the wear and tear the legs have taken while having such a good time all these years. 🙂 Again, this one packs well and you simply need to take it out of your bag and go. Total win win.

Dear friend can certainly do short shorts and fitted tee, she’s got the body and being super fit is her profession.

If you too think you might like the idea of going long, two great options are coming up at Summer 2013 Trunk Show. Included for you are images of models by profession in the red and chocolate. Can’t wait for Summer Trunk Show? Email me here, happy to help you get every day dressed.

dress as dress

[easyrotator]erc_68_1364910941[/easyrotator]

When something works, consider multiples. Happy almost birthday, soon to be twenty-three year old twins. Really feel like I willed those two, loved being a mom so much.

Birthday wishes aside, dress, this time in sunshine yellow, same one as seen before in black, finally worn as dress.

This was the perfect thing to put on for church with flat sandals while in a resort area. Had I been citywide would have definitely worn the heels. Flat sandals made it super easy to beat the parking crunch, pulled in about 1/4 mile from the church and simply walked, fast.

Wore it to make and serve plated eggs Benedict for the family, there were only eight of us, that dish is not really meant to be served buffet, and for the egg hunt.

Slipped it off for afternoon activities, slipped it back on for dinner with more family, thank you Kate, John, and kids.

This dress, for sure, is an every day dress. Looked like nothing on the hanger, knew it had super potential. Packs well, no wrinkles, no ironing, simply take it out of the luggage and wear. Bought it in multiples, black and sunshine, and can wear it in multiple ways, dress as coat, dress as dress.

Every day dress finally wears dress as dress.

Hope everyone out there had a really great Monday and wishing you an even better Tuesday.

sweater weather

[easyrotator]erc_87_1364755440[/easyrotator]

Quick post: when it’s cooler than expected it’s always nice to have a great sweater to wrap up in. Even better when it’s reversible and not sized, that way it can be passed around. Twelve year old daughter wore this piece over her dress this morning for church services, cream side out, she looked great and warm.

Husband wearing one of his favorites in a great color, by Loro Piana. Easter weekend is a good time to keep the color palette fresh.

Wishing everyone a joyous Sunday. Sending love to all, xoxo.

one more time

[easyrotator]erc_89_1364647760[/easyrotator]

Might as well go big or go home: here’s that black cardigan with Wolford tank underneath and pink AG jeans, as worn first night on vacation in Savannah GA. Reason for the post again about this wardrobe staple?

When helping women clients build great wardrobes over time, outfitting four fashion conscious daughters, and dressing myself for work, travel, play, if there’s a piece that makes life easier and getting dressed faster, let everyone know about it.

And, when you can machine wash it on cold, lay it flat to dry and it keeps on looking and feeling great, that’s investment dressing.

Ethel, you need this one, Laurie, I think you would love it too, and Melissa, you would wear this all the time.

third time’s a charm

[easyrotator]erc_27_1364611669[/easyrotator]

Still cold, third night in a row, dress as coat, no shame. Daughters ask, what are you wearing? No worries, I’ve got this little black dress packed. Add it to the floral jeans from last season, again, no shame, that black cardigan, and, done, dressed for dinner again.

Every day dress does total outfit repeat, make sure your clothes are there for you, and third time’s a charm. Not afraid to wear the same stuff many days in a row. Jennifer Steinkamp, you are my hero. Thinking every woman out there needs that black cardigan and dress as coat.

Don’t forget the blog party, Thursday, April 11th, 5 – 7 pm, Perfetto, 617 Washington Street, downtown Buffalo NY. Email us here if you like to celebrate, can’t wait to see you.

Three nights in a row, dress as coat, Worth New York Spring 2013

dress as coat

[easyrotator]erc_45_1364525882[/easyrotator]

When traveling, every single piece needs to be able to do double duty. Case in point: dress, in colder than expected temperatures, worn as coat, two nights in a row.

Thought I could leave the biker boots at home when visiting Savannah GA and Hilton Head SC in late March. Not so. Missing those things desperately.

Instead, had to rely on layer upon layer. Not so bad, as each piece that was packed can perform in multiple ways. White jeans? Twelve month staple. Black Donna Karan Collection long sleeve silk tee? Bought that thing eight years ago and it’s still going strong. Coat as dress? New piece from Worth New York Spring 2013. Totally earning its respect in the wardrobe: wore it last night out to dinner with that black cardigan and pink jeans, it was Savannah, tonight with Donna Karan tee and white jeans. Falling in love. Can’t wait to wear it as planned, as a dress, need about 2o more degrees though.

Layer your clothes, use a dress as coat, have fun, cold temperatures or not.

Every day dress out to dinner two nights in a row with dress worn as coat. Stay warm. xoxo
